On this day, February 1980, Andy Gibb released his third and final studio album, After Dark. The album continued his signature soft rock and disco-influenced sound, featuring production and songwriting contributions from his older brothers, Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees.

After Dark reached number 21 on the US Billboard 200 and included hit singles like Desire and I Can't Help It, the latter featuring a duet with Olivia Newton-John. Despite its success, it would be Andy Gibb’s last full-length studio album, as struggles with personal issues and industry challenges prevented him from releasing more music before his untimely passing in 1988.

Fun fact: Desire was originally recorded by the Bee Gees for their album Spirits Having Flown but was later given to Andy for After Dark. The Bee Gees still provided backing vocals on the track.

Trivia question: Which famous female singer duetted with Andy Gibb on I Can't Help It?
