On this day, November 18, 1986, Duran Duran released their fourth studio album, Notorious. Marking a new chapter for the band, this album was their first as a trio after the departure of Andy Taylor and Roger Taylor. With Nile Rodgers as co-producer, Notorious embraced a funkier, more mature sound.

The album reached #12 on the Billboard charts and featured hits like the title track “Notorious” and “Skin Trade.” It showcased the band’s ability to evolve while still delivering the catchy hooks and polished production they were known for.

Do you think Notorious was a successful reinvention for Duran Duran? What’s your favorite track from the album?
