On this day, November 27, 1980, the sitcom Bosom Buddies premiered on ABC. Starring Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari, the show followed two young men, Kip and Henry, who disguise themselves as women to live in a female-only apartment building. Their hilarious antics and heartfelt friendships made the series a fan favorite.

Though Bosom Buddies ran for just two seasons with 37 episodes, it helped launch Tom Hanks’s illustrious career. Fun Fact: The characters Kip and Henry were named after two bars in Berkeley, California, adding a quirky touch to the show’s legacy.

Do you remember watching Bosom Buddies? What’s your favorite moment or episode from the series?
