On August 7, 1987, the comedy film “Back to the Beach” premiered, directed by Lyndall Hobbs. The movie brought back the beloved duo of Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, alongside a star-studded cast including Lori Loughlin, Tommy Hinkley, Demian Slade, Connie Stevens, Don Adams, Bob Denver, and Pee-wee Herman. Despite the production budget being undisclosed, “Back to the Beach” enjoyed moderate success, grossing $13.1 million at the box office.
