On this day August 24, 1981, The Rolling Stones released their 18th album, Tattoo You, which quickly climbed to #1 on the US Billboard 200 charts. This iconic album not only dominated the U.S. charts but also reached the top spot in Canada, France, the Netherlands, Australia, and New Zealand.

Tattoo You became a massive success, selling over 4 million copies in the United States alone. The album solidified The Rolling Stones' place as rock legends, with tracks like "Start Me Up" becoming timeless classics.
