On August 8, 1986, “The Transformers: The Movie” premiered, directed by Nelson Shin. This animated feature boasted a stellar voice cast including Peter Cullen, Judd Nelson, Robert Stack, Leonard Nimoy, Lionel Stander, Eric Idle, John Moschitta Jr., Frank Welker, Dan Gilvezan, Chris Latta, Casey Kasem, Scatman Crothers, Michael Bell, Corey Burton, and Orson Welles. With a production budget of $6 million, the film grossed $5.8 million at the box office.
