On August 1, 1986, the movie “Howard the Duck” hit theaters, directed by Willard Huyck and starring Lea Thompson, Jeffrey Jones, and Tim Robbins. Despite its big budget of $37 million, the film only managed to bring in $38 million at the box office, just barely covering its costs.

Howard the Duck” has since become a cult classic, known for its quirky storyline and unique place in 80s pop culture. Although it wasn’t a major hit upon release, it remains a nostalgic favorite for many fans of the era.
