On this day March 6 1981 the psychological horror film Maniac premiered in theaters in Los Angeles. Directed by William Lustig the film starred Joe Spinell as Frank Zito a deeply disturbed serial killer stalking the streets of New York City. Caroline Munro played a photographer who unknowingly becomes his next target.

I always liked Maniac but I really have to be in the mood to watch it. This movie is the definition of a cult classic horror.
