The Ramones Released End of the Century
On this day, February 4, 1980, The Ramones released their fifth studio album, End of the Century. Produced by legendary music producer Phil Spector, the album marked a shift from the band's raw punk sound to a more polished production style.

End of the Century reached #44 on the US Billboard 200 charts, making it the highest-charting Ramones album at the time. It featured tracks like Do You Remember Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio?, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, and a cover of The Ronettes’ Baby, I Love You. Despite mixed reactions from longtime fans, the album helped introduce The Ramones to a wider audience.

Fun fact: During the recording sessions, Phil Spector was known for his eccentric behavior. At one point, he reportedly pulled a gun on the band in the studio and forced them to keep playing the same riff repeatedly.

Trivia question: Which famous girl group originally recorded Baby, I Love You, which The Ramones covered on End of the Century?
