On This Day: March 29 1985 Rogues Gallery by Slade Was Released
On this day March 29 1985 British rock band Slade released their twelfth studio album Rogues Gallery. Known for their glam rock roots and anthemic choruses the band leaned into a more polished and radio friendly sound on this record to match the mid 80s style.

The album reached number 132 on the US Billboard charts and included tracks like 7 Year Bitch and All Join Hands which became a hit in the UK. Rogues Gallery showed the band evolving from their rowdy 70s sound into a more refined but still energetic rock act.

Fun fact: Although Slade found most of their success in the UK they gained a second wave of American fans in the 80s thanks to the glam metal movement which credited them as a major influence.

Trivia question: What American band covered Slade’s song Cum On Feel the Noize and made it a huge hit in the 80s?
