On This Day: March 27 1985 7800° Fahrenheit by Bon Jovi Was Released
On this day March 27 1985 Bon Jovi released their second studio album 7800° Fahrenheit. Coming off their self titled debut the band pushed for a heavier and more polished sound with this release while continuing to build their identity in the mid 80s rock scene.

The album reached number 37 on the US Billboard charts and featured fan favorites like In and Out of Love and Only Lonely. While it didn’t achieve the massive commercial success of their later albums 7800° Fahrenheit helped set the stage for Bon Jovi’s breakout just a year later with Slippery When Wet.

Fun fact: The title 7800° Fahrenheit refers to the supposed melting point of rock which the band jokingly used to describe how hot their music was at the time.

Trivia question: What was the name of the Bon Jovi album that followed 7800° Fahrenheit and launched them into global stardom?
