On this day March 27 1984 Ratt released their debut album Out of the Cellar and exploded onto the glam metal scene. Fueled by heavy riffs slick production and high energy vocals the album quickly climbed the charts and established Ratt as one of the top rock bands of the decade.

Out of the Cellar reached number 7 on the US Billboard 200 and went on to sell over 3 million copies in the United States. The album featured the massive hit Round and Round which became a staple of 80s rock radio and MTV with its memorable guitar hooks and singalong chorus.

Fun fact: The music video for Round and Round featured actor Milton Berle whose nephew Marshall Berle was Ratt’s manager. Berle’s appearance helped boost the video’s visibility and added a wild comedic touch.
