On This Day: March 13 1981 Never Too Late by Status Quo Was Released
On this day March 13 1981 Status Quo released their fourteenth studio album Never Too Late. The album continued the band’s signature boogie rock sound and was the last to feature longtime drummer John Coghlan before he left the group.

Never Too Late was a commercial success reaching number two on the UK charts. It featured tracks like Something Bout You Baby I Like and the title track Never Too Late showcasing the band’s ability to blend hard rock riffs with catchy melodies. Though it didn’t receive the same level of acclaim as some of their earlier albums it remains a favorite among dedicated Quo fans.

Fun fact: Never Too Late was released just a few months after their previous album Just Supposin making it part of an incredibly productive period for the band.

Trivia question: What was the name of Status Quo’s first top ten hit in the UK released in 1968?
