On this day April 18 1986, the film "At Close Range" hit theaters, directed by James Foley and featuring Sean Penn, Christopher Walken, Mary Stuart Masterson, Chris Penn, David Strathairn, Crispin Glover, Kiefer Sutherland, and Eileen Ryan. Despite a $6.5 million budget, it only earned $2.3 million at the box office. Interestingly, Sean Penn and Chris Penn appeared alongside their mother, Eileen Ryan, in the film. Additionally, Sean Penn's wife, Madonna, wrote the theme song "Live to Tell."
