Some 80s characters just had that vibe like they would totally have your back at school or make you laugh when you needed it. So if you could pull one 80s TV character into real life as your best friend who are you picking and why?

Honestly I think I’d pick Balki from Perfect Strangers. That guy was pure chaos but in the best way. Always full of energy, weird sayings and doing stuff that made no sense but somehow worked out. You’d never be bored with him around. I feel like he’d get us kicked out of places from laughing too hard or trying something totally random but he’d mean well every time. Plus he had a heart of gold under all the goofiness.

I think I would have gotten along really well with Kevin Arnold from The Wonder Years. He always seemed like someone who felt things deeply and noticed the little stuff going on around him. I was a quiet kid who liked to write and observe more than talk so I think we would’ve understood each other. Plus he had a good heart even when he didn’t always know what to do with it. I would’ve convinced him to do something else with his hair lol.

Balki was definitely a funny character.

I think my best friend would have been Samantha Micelli from Who’s the Boss.

Would you have hung out with the actor that played Samantha? I hear she’s a real wacko now lol.

That’s so funny because I’ve heard a few things too especially about her twitter rants. She’s crazy! Back then I really looked up to her character and that’s what stuck with me the most. I probably would’ve still hung out with her back in the day. She seemed fun, confident and real. Sometimes the characters we connected with meant more than the person behind them.

Yeah she’s out there. I guess when you have all that money you have too much time on your hands.
