On this day, October 3, 1984, Charles in Charge premiered on CBS! The sitcom starred Scott Baio as Charles, a college student who works as a live-in babysitter for a family. The show initially ran for one season on CBS but was canceled. However, it was picked up by Universal and rebooted in syndication with a new family, continuing for a total of 5 seasons with 126 episodes. Scott Baio and Willie Aames were the only cast members to stay on as regulars in both versions of the show.
