On this day, November 7, 1987, the action-adventure series Sable premiered on ABC. The show, based on the comic Jon Sable: Freelance, starred Lewis Van Bergen as Jon Sable, a vigilante writer by night, and featured Rene Russo in one of her early roles. Despite its intriguing storyline and action-packed premise, Sable only lasted for one season with a total of seven episodes, but it left an impression on fans who enjoyed the unique blend of crime-fighting and storytelling.
