On this day, January 30, 1989, thrash metal legends Exodus released their third studio album, Fabulous Disaster. This album marked a turning point for the band, blending raw aggression with more refined songwriting, helping solidify their place in the thrash metal scene alongside bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.

Featuring tracks like The Toxic Waltz, Fabulous Disaster, and Like Father, Like Son, the album became a fan favorite, showcasing Exodus’ blistering riffs, relentless drumming, and Paul Baloff as replacement, Steve Souza, delivering his signature snarl on vocals. The Toxic Waltz, in particular, became a thrash metal anthem, inspiring countless mosh pits.

Fun Fact: Fabulous Disaster was Exodus’ first album to be released under a major label, Capitol Records, helping the band gain wider recognition.

Trivia Question: Which thrash metal legend replaced Paul Baloff as Exodus’ lead vocalist for Fabulous Disaster?
