Though it received mixed reviews upon release, Ghoulies found its audience among fans of campy, low-budget horror and has since become a staple of 80s cult cinema. Its success at the box office led to several sequels, further expanding its reputation as a fun and quirky addition to the genre.

Fun Fact: The infamous poster tagline, “They’ll get you in the end,” featured a ghoul popping out of a toilet, which became one of the most recognizable and talked-about horror marketing images of the 80s.
