On this day, November 5, 1987, Beverly Hills Buntz premiered on NBC. A spinoff of the popular series Hill Street Blues, the show starred Dennis Franz as Norman Buntz, a former police officer from Hill Street who moves to Beverly Hills to work as a private investigator. Despite its unique premise and connection to Hill Street Blues, Beverly Hills Buntz ran for just one season with 13 episodes, making it a short-lived but memorable part of late-’80s television.

Who remembers Beverly Hills Buntz? Did you enjoy this comedic twist on a Hill Street Blues character?
