On this day, February 5, 1988, The Unbearable Lightness of Being premiered in theaters. Directed by Philip Kaufman, the film starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Juliette Binoche, and Lena Olin in a romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1968 Prague Spring in Czechoslovakia.
