On this day May 11, 1981, Grace Jones released her fifth studio album Nightclubbing, a bold fusion of reggae, new wave, funk, and art pop that became a defining statement of her career. Backed by the Compass Point All Stars and produced by Sly and Robbie, the album showcased Jones’ fierce style, deep vocals, and genre bending creativity.
