On This Day: March 6 1982 Chicago Story Premiered on NBC
On this day March 6 1982 the drama series Chicago Story premiered on NBC. The show attempted to blend multiple perspectives by following doctors lawyers and police officers as they navigated the challenges of life in Chicago. Featuring an ensemble cast and a mix of legal medical and crime drama elements the series aimed to capture the city's complex and gritty reality.

Despite its ambitious storytelling Chicago Story struggled to find a large audience and lasted only one season with a total of 13 episodes. Though short-lived it is often remembered as a precursor to later ensemble dramas that successfully combined different professions and storylines.

Fun fact: Chicago Story was one of the first TV dramas to attempt a multi-genre approach combining medical legal and police procedural elements in a single show.

Trivia question: Which long-running NBC drama set in Chicago also focused on multiple professions and storylines decades after Chicago Story?
