On this day March 29 1982 Dolly Parton released her twenty fourth solo studio album Heartbreak Express. Mixing heartfelt ballads with upbeat country-pop charm the album continued her successful crossover appeal in the early 80s.

Heartbreak Express reached number 105 on the US Billboard 200 and climbed to number 5 on the Country Albums chart. The album featured standout tracks like Do I Ever Cross Your Mind and the title track Heartbreak Express both highlighting Dolly’s signature storytelling and vocal warmth.
