On this day March 27 1984 German hard rock band Scorpions released their ninth studio album Love at First Sting. The album became one of the biggest successes of their career and helped cement their place as international rock icons.

Love at First Sting reached number 6 on the US Billboard charts and went on to sell over 3 million copies in the United States. It featured the explosive anthem Rock You Like a Hurricane which became one of the most recognizable and enduring tracks of the 80s rock era.
