On This Day: March 26 1984 Now That’s What I Call Music II Was Released in the UK
On this day March 26 1984 Now That’s What I Call Music II was released in the UK. Following the huge success of the first volume the second installment of the iconic compilation series featured another packed lineup of top chart hits from across the pop and rock spectrum.

The album included tracks from artists like Queen Nena David Bowie and Madness offering a snapshot of the UK music scene in early 1984. Just like its predecessor Now II shot to number 1 on the UK Albums Chart and continued to cement the Now brand as the go to collection for hit singles.

Fun fact: The Now series originally launched as a collaboration between major record labels to gather popular tracks in one place making it one of the first widely successful cross label compilations in music history.

Trivia question: What year was the first Now That’s What I Call Music album released in the UK?
