On This Day: March 25 1986 Perfect Strangers Premiered on ABC
On this day March 25 1986 Perfect Strangers premiered on ABC. The sitcom starred Mark Linn-Baker as straight-laced Larry Appleton and Bronson Pinchot as his upbeat and quirky cousin Balki Bartokomous from the fictional island of Mypos. The show quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its heartwarming humor and memorable catchphrases. Perfect Strangers ran for 8 seasons with a total of 150 episodes. It followed the mismatched duo as they learned to live together in Chicago navigating cultural differences and personal growth with plenty of laughs along the way.

Fun fact: Family Matters was a spinoff from Perfect Strangers. The character Harriette Winslow originally appeared as an elevator operator at the Chicago Chronicle before getting her own series.

Trivia question: What was Balki’s famous catchphrase throughout the show?
