On This Day: March 22 1982 The Final Episode of Mr. Merlin Aired
On this day March 22 1982 the final episode of the fantasy sitcom Mr. Merlin aired on CBS. The series followed the legendary wizard Merlin now living in modern-day San Francisco as a mechanic. He takes on a young apprentice whom he must train while keeping his magical identity a secret. Despite its unique premise blending comedy and fantasy the show only lasted one season with 22 episodes before being canceled.

Fun fact: Mr. Merlin was one of several early 80s fantasy-based sitcoms that struggled to find an audience despite their creative concepts.

Trivia question: What 1980s sitcom featured a young girl with supernatural powers who lived with her foster father?
