On This Day: March 22 1980 Me and Maxx Premiered on NBC
On this day March 22 1980 the short-lived sitcom Me and Maxx premiered on NBC. The series followed the story of a single father adjusting to life with his independent and outspoken 11 year old daughter Maxx. Despite its heartfelt premise and comedic moments the show struggled to find an audience and was canceled after just one season with only ten episodes airing.

Fun fact: Me and Maxx was one of several short-lived NBC sitcoms from the early 80s that failed to gain traction as the network struggled with ratings before its mid-80s resurgence.

Trivia question: What popular 80s sitcom helped turn NBC into a ratings powerhouse after its debut in 1982?
