On this day March 22 1980 Another Brick in the Wall Part II by Pink Floyd hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 where it stayed for four weeks until April 18. The song also topped the charts in the UK Canada France Germany and several other countries making it one of the band's biggest commercial hits.

Featured on their iconic album The Wall the song became an anthem of rebellion with its famous line We don’t need no education. It remains one of the most recognizable rock songs of all time blending progressive rock with disco influenced beats.
