On this day March 20 1981 Omen III The Final Conflict premiered in theaters marking the final chapter in the original Omen horror trilogy. Directed by Graham Baker the film starred Sam Neill as Damien Thorn now an influential businessman and politician who seeks to fulfill his dark destiny.

The story follows Damien as he rises to power while a group of priests attempts to stop him before he can fully bring about the Antichrist’s rule. While not as well-received as the original Omen the film was a box office success grossing 20.4 million against a 5.5 million budget.

Fun fact: Sam Neill’s performance as Damien helped boost his career leading to future iconic roles including Dr Alan Grant in Jurassic Park.
