On this day March 18 1988 the neo-noir thriller D.O.A. premiered in theaters. Directed by Annabel Jankel and Rocky Morton the film starred Dennis Quaid Meg Ryan Daniel Stern Charlotte Rampling and Jane Kaczmarek.

A remake of the 1950 film of the same name D.O.A. followed a college professor who is poisoned and has only 24 hours to solve his own murder before he succumbs to the lethal dose. The film blended mystery suspense and stylish visuals delivering a tense race against time. It earned 12.7 million at the box office.

Fun fact: This was one of the first films to feature Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan together before they later married in real life.
