On This Day: March 16 1984 Tank Premiered in Theaters
On this day March 16 1984 the action comedy film Tank premiered in theaters. Directed by Marvin J. Chomsky the film starred James Garner Jenilee Harrison and C. Thomas Howell in a story about one man taking justice into his own hands literally with a tank.

The film followed a U.S. Army sergeant played by James Garner who uses his personal Sherman tank to take on corrupt law enforcement in a small town to save his son. Mixing action humor and themes of standing up against injustice the film became a modest box office success earning 11.3 million.

Fun fact: James Garner performed many of his own stunts in Tank showcasing the tough guy charm that made him a Hollywood legend.
