On This Day: March 16 1981 Breaker by Accept Was Released
On this day March 16 1981 German heavy metal band Accept released their third studio album Breaker. The album marked a turning point for the band as they refined their sound with heavier riffs faster tempos and more aggressive vocals from Udo Dirkschneider.

Though not a major commercial success at the time Breaker became a fan favorite and an important album in the development of Accept’s signature style. Songs like Starlight and Midnight Highway helped establish the band’s growing presence in the European metal scene.

Fun fact: The band’s label wanted Accept to pursue a more commercial sound but they refused leading them to produce Breaker with a heavier and more rebellious tone.
