On this day March 15 1985 the family sitcom Mr. Belvedere premiered on ABC. Starring Christopher Hewett as the wise and witty British butler Lynn Belvedere the show followed his adventures as he adjusted to life with the Owens family in suburban America.

The series became a beloved 80s sitcom running for six seasons and 117 episodes. Bob Uecker played the family’s father George Owens adding his comedic charm to the show. Known for its mix of humor and heartwarming lessons Mr. Belvedere remains a nostalgic favorite for many.

Fun fact: Bob Uecker has been the play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers since 1971 making him one of the most recognizable voices in baseball.
