On This Day: March 12 1982 Parasite 3D Premiered in Theaters
On this day March 12 1982 the sci-fi horror film Parasite 3D premiered in theaters. Directed by Charles Band the film starred Robert Glaudini and a young Demi Moore in one of her earliest roles.

Parasite was part of the early 80s resurgence of 3D films and featured a dystopian storyline about a scientist infected with a deadly parasite that grows inside its host. With its mix of body horror and sci-fi elements the film gained a cult following among fans of low-budget 80s horror.

Fun fact: Parasite was Demi Moore’s first major film role before she became a Hollywood star in the mid-80s.

Trivia question: What was the title of the 1985 sci-fi film directed by Charles Band that featured another deadly parasite-like creature?
