On This Day: March 1 1984 Sting Played His Last Concert With The Police
On this day March 1 1984 Sting played his last concert with The Police before embarking on a solo career. The band performed their final show together at the end of their Synchronicity Tour which had been their most successful tour to date.

The Police had become one of the biggest bands in the world with hits like Every Breath You Take Roxanne and Message in a Bottle. Their final tour in support of the album Synchronicity cemented their status as one of the defining bands of the early 1980s.

Following the tour Sting pursued a solo career that brought him continued success with albums such as The Dream of the Blue Turtles and Nothing Like the Sun. The Police would eventually reunite in 2007 for a highly anticipated world tour celebrating the band’s legacy and influence on rock music.

Fun fact: The Police's final concert before reuniting in 2007 took place in Melbourne Australia where they closed out the Synchronicity Tour to a sold out crowd.

Trivia question: Before forming The Police Sting was a member of a jazz fusion band. Can you name the band he played in before The Police.
