On this day June 26, 1987, the final episode of Rocky Road aired on WTBS, closing out a three season run with a total of 71 episodes. The series followed three siblings who take over running an ice cream parlor after their parents are lost at sea. Though it did not achieve mainstream network success, Rocky Road helped establish WTBS as a home for original programming during a time when cable was beginning to offer real competition to the big networks.
