Compiled by influential DJ and metal promoter Neal Kay, Metal for Muthas showcased the raw energy and aggressive sound of emerging British metal bands. The album’s tracklist included Baphomet by Angel Witch and Sanctuary by Iron Maiden, both of which became key songs in the NWOBHM movement. The compilation played a crucial role in bringing underground metal to mainstream attention, helping to launch the careers of several now legendary bands.

Though it didn’t achieve massive commercial success, Metal for Muthas remains a cult favorite among metal fans, marking a pivotal moment in the rise of British heavy metal during the early 80s.
