On This Day: February 11, 1985 - The Firm Released Their Debut Album
On this day, February 11, 1985, The Firm, the supergroup featuring Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers, released their self-titled debut album. With a blend of hard rock, blues, and stadium-ready anthems, the album was highly anticipated by rock fans, as it marked Page’s first major project following Led Zeppelin’s breakup.

The album performed well commercially, reaching number 17 on the Billboard 200 and producing memorable tracks like Radioactive, which became a Top 40 hit, as well as Closer and Satisfaction Guaranteed. Though the band avoided playing songs from Led Zeppelin and Bad Company during live performances, The Firm still attracted a strong following due to the combined star power of Page’s legendary guitar work and Rodgers’ powerful vocals.

Despite only lasting two albums before disbanding, The Firm remains an interesting chapter in rock history, showcasing the talents of two music legends collaborating in a new era.

Fun fact: Radioactive was the band’s biggest hit, reaching number 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and becoming The Firm’s signature song.

Trivia question: Before forming The Firm, Paul Rodgers was the lead singer of which two famous rock bands?
