On This Day: April 30, 1982 - Soup for One Premieres in Theaters
On April 30, 1982, the romantic comedy Soup for One was released in theaters. Directed by Jonathan Kaufer, the film starred Saul Rubinek as a lonely New Yorker searching for love while navigating the chaos of city life.

The cast also included Marcia Strassman, Gerrit Graham, and featured a performance by singer Teddy Pendergrass. While the movie did not make a big splash at the box office, it became better known for its soundtrack which featured several memorable tracks from the band Chic.

Fun fact: Even though Soup for One did not perform well in theaters, its soundtrack album produced a hit single by Chic titled Soup for One which became a dance floor favorite.
