On This Day: April 29 1983 - Men at Work Released Cargo
On this day April 29 1983, Men at Work released their second studio album Cargo. Riding the wave of success from their debut album Business as Usual, the Australian band delivered another set of catchy pop rock tracks filled with witty lyrics and infectious hooks.

Cargo reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in Australia. The album produced several hit singles including Overkill and It’s a Mistake which helped maintain their popularity across the United States and around the world.

Cargo went on to sell over 3 million copies in the US alone and solidified Men at Work’s place as one of the biggest acts of the early 80s.

Fun fact: The song Overkill from Cargo became one of Men at Work’s most enduring hits and has been covered by many artists including an acoustic version by lead singer Colin Hay years later.
