On This Day: April 26, 1988 - Just the Ten of Us Premiered on ABC
On this day April 26, 1988, the family sitcom Just the Ten of Us premiered on ABC. A spinoff from the hit series Growing Pains, the show followed Coach Graham Lubbock, a Catholic high school coach and father of eight, as he relocated his large family and adjusted to a new job at an all boys school.

The series brought humor, heart, and a touch of chaos, with a cast of lovable characters navigating family life with energy and warmth. Several of the Lubbock daughters became teen favorites during the show's run, especially among young 80s audiences. While it only lasted three seasons, Just the Ten of Us developed a loyal following and is still remembered for its quirky charm and catchy opening theme.

Fun fact: The theme song was performed by Bill Medley, who was one half of the Righteous Brothers and also sang the hit song from Dirty Dancing.
