On This Day: April 13, 1988 - Glass Tiger Released Diamond Sun
On this day April 13, 1988, Canadian rock band Glass Tiger released their second studio album Diamond Sun. Following the success of their debut, the band returned with a more mature sound that blended pop rock with thoughtful lyrics and polished production.

Diamond Sun reached number 82 on the US Billboard 200 and climbed all the way to number 6 in Canada, where the band remained a major radio favorite. The title track Diamond Sun became one of their standout singles, along with I'm Still Searching and My Song. The album showcased a smoother, more emotional side of the band, while still carrying the anthemic energy that made them a success in the mid 80s. While it didn’t match the chart impact of their debut in the US, Diamond Sun helped solidify Glass Tiger’s reputation in their home country and kept them in regular rotation on both Canadian and international radio.

Fun fact: Glass Tiger toured extensively in support of Diamond Sun, including dates with Tina Turner during her Break Every Rule world tour.

Trivia question: What 1988 album by Glass Tiger reached number 6 in Canada and included the hit title track Diamond Sun?
