On This Day: April 10, 1983 - Final Episode of Gloria Aired
On this day April 10, 1983, the final episode of Gloria aired, closing out the one and only season of the short lived spin off from All in the Family and Archie Bunker’s Place. The show starred Sally Struthers reprising her role as Gloria Stivic, now a single mother raising her young son after separating from Michael.

The series followed Gloria as she returned to New York and started working at a veterinary clinic run by Dr. Adams, played by Burgess Meredith. It focused on her personal growth and challenges while raising her son, offering a softer tone than the original shows but still centered on everyday struggles and family life.

Gloria lasted 21 episodes before being canceled, never fully finding its audience despite the popularity of the character and its strong connection to one of the most influential TV franchises in history.

Fun fact: Gloria was the third spin off from All in the Family, following Maude and The Jeffersons.

Trivia question: What groundbreaking sitcom originally introduced the character of Gloria, later featured in her own series?
