Oh god now I'm hearing Celine Dion in my head singing the titanic song!!!2 points

Omg those dolls were the cause of many battles during the holidays. I had a few cabbage patch dolls which I got for Christmas the year they came out.2 points

Oh please you men have it easy compared to us women! Making breakfast for the whole family before I have to go to work is so annoying lol. I love cooking but not so early in the morning. Having to drive my kids to all their sporting events during the weekends!!! Ugh I hate doing that but we have to keep up with the Jones! Lol shaving and I mean my legs hehe. I have so much more to add but I'll spare you all.2 points

I always liked Who's the Boss and saw every episode at least once. It was a cute show. Like others here, I despise Alyssa Milano. Isn't it funny how decades ago when we didn't know an actors political views, you could enjoy their movies and not think a thing of it. Now, it makes things hard to watch or like them in a role, when you know they stand for everything you oppose. I have no idea how Bette Davis felt politically, or Cary Grant, and that's fine, I didn't need to know. It was better when we did not know much about a celebrity other than what the studios released about them, much of2 points

Same! Alyssa Milano is not my favorite person right now. She's got a huge mouth and to be honest I don't like anything she stands for. I did love this show though! I loved Tony! I wouldn't watch any reunion show but I did watch it back in the day.2 points

Not a fan of facial or body hair on either sex. I like the "swimmer's look". Smooth like seal, lol.1 point

I think my mom and I were two of the only people alive that enjoyed this movie. We even went to see it more than once! It is funny, likable, and has a good soundtrack, thanks to Dolly.1 point

I looked up a list of 80's commercials to refresh my memories and so many came back to me when I saw them listed, I picked the ones I recalled the best. The number one one that sticks in my mind I did not need to see on a list was the Fed/Ex guy, that one was huge.1 point

I'm not a fan of body hair on anyone. I like the "swimmers look" where the men are smooth like seals. My preference would be no hair from the eyes down. Scalp, eyebrows, lashes, that it for either sex. There's a whole movement going on now with women embracing their body hair, it's just gross. Shave, you lazy, unkempt, lazy bitches is my opinion!1 point

Taking the garbage out is a major hassle here. We live on a hill, and I live upstairs, so all of my garbage and dirty cat litter has to be dragged down 16 stairs in the house, dragged another 50 ft outside and rolled down a hill to the curb. My mom and I and the cats produce a ton of garbage and every week have 7 bags minimum. It's only once a week here and has to be out by 7 am, so if you miss it, it rolls over to the next week. I'm seldom up then unless I haven't gone to bed yet, so may miss 1-2 weeks. This coming week I will have to haul out nearly 25 bags since I've been cleaning one room1 point

That's why I love forums, to make others feel inadequate, lololol. (Just kidding!) I'm a few years older than you, so remember a bit better since I was older.1 point

This is another one that I never heard of lol. Wow just when I thought that I knew almost everything there was to know about the eighties you come along and make me rethink that.1 point

Yes, it was "an old people's show." My grandmother never missed an episode, she also never missed "Matlock."1 point

You were just too young! It was on '81-'89 on CBS and was a big hit! The leads played brothers that were quite opposite in personalities that ran a detective agency. My grandmother was a huge fan of many detective shows, so we watched a ton of them.1 point

Whenever I think or read about Meghan Markle, I hear the theme song, "Movin' On Up" in my head! Yes, we watched this when I was a kid. My mom was a fan of Norman Lear comedies, me, not so much.1 point

Burger Time was cute yet stressful! I never got good at it. It was satisfying finally getting a burger made, but I'd run into those darn chili peppers too easily.1 point

Aerosmith were by no means a one hit wonder, but they released a song, finally, in 1986 that I found on one of their live albums that was there as an extra. It's one of those underrated songs that never got the attention it deserved. IMO.1 point

We always went into Spencers with every mall trip. My friends and I, I should say. We used to laugh and giggle at the "adult" things. They had the funniest cards!1 point

My parents took us to Burger King, usually every other week. It sure was a treat back then. My gram would take me to BINGO at the local Moose club. After that we would go to McDonalds. I'd always get a sundae and a soda.1 point

I got two correct and was way, way off on the others! I now question my 80s memories lol. The site these are from has a photo of a young Megan Mullally. Love seeing the early days of celebrity careers.1 point

I do! I am a huge Woody Allen movie fan. Personally I think loopy Mia Farrow set him up for a fall with the whole stepdaughter accusations fiasco, but he's a genius movie maker. I'd far rather watch a well written, witty movie with a great story like his than some huge blockbuster with a ton of special effects. There's no special effects in his movies and they are very good. Manhattan Murder Mystery and The Purple Rose of Cairo are two of my favorites. Radio Days as well, so many of his I love.1 point

I'm sure most of us remember the movie Flashdance and the iconic eighties son She's A Maniac that went a long with it. A question for the guys. How many of you mimicked the running in place scene while the song played for laughs?? I've done it with the guys and we laughed hard! lol1 point

They didn't have those in Canada, but I always recall when we'd go to the states on road trips I'd always go into them and look around them.1 point

Growing up where I did I didn’t have Spencers. I had two stores to go to. One was Jolly Joint and the other was Yogi Lala. Felt metal posters, chain wallets, metal shirts and patches. Those two stores were my go to for most of my clothing in the eighties.1 point

@MrEighties It was Tampa 31-9. On a different note, I thought The Weeknd put on a decent halftime show. The memes from it are pretty funny.1 point

I watched this show here and there but ask me to watch it now no way. I hate Alisa Milano with a passion. I liked her back then because she was young and didn't have a big mouth lol.1 point

It looks like tv has run out of ideas so they're making sequels to old television shows. Besides Who's the Boss they're also making a Punky Brewster sequel and the sexy Soleil Moon Frye will be starring as her thankfully. I'm surprised they're not changing the actors like they've been doing for instance Kojak which the remake was horrible and didn't last lol.1 point

Xanadu was a very weird movie, not a doubt, but it had a fantastic soundtrack.1 point

Mine wasn't extreme or weird, it was kind of like Princess Diana's shortly after she got engaged. I even took her pic once to a hairdresser to copy. This one girl in school was doing some Cyndi Lauper thing and had her scalp turned into a checkerboard design. I called her waffle head, lol. So she had squares around 2 inches, some near the scalp, the others maybe an inch long, it was bizarre. Only wish I had a pic of it, it was surreal. I recall a guy with a Mohawk that stood out around 6 inches. He had the tips of the spikes different colors. He said he got it to stand out and stiff with soap1 point

Who owned one of these shirts?? The half shirts are hilarious. Can you imagine them being in style today? I wouldn't be surprised if they bring them back in the near future lol.1 point

Hilarious!!! I had acid washed jeans too and lots and lots of off the shoulder shirts. You made me feel so old!! If I see a kid dressed in 80's fashion for Halloween I'll slap him! hahaha1 point

In 2007, the end of Daylight Saving Time jumped from the last Sunday in October to the first Sunday in November. The decision was reportedly influenced by candy lobbyists pushing to get trick-or-treaters an extra hour of daylight.1 point

Juicy Fruit gum, an early version of Cracker Jack, and the Ferris Wheel all made their debuts at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. I wonder if they tasted just as good then as they do now?1 point
